Discover a Haitian Woman

Haitian women are the pillars of society. Having said that, they have a lot of expectations and responsibilities on their shoulders. They are also very proud of themselves, very courageous, and very determined. I am a HAITIAN woman.

Born and raised in Haiti, I have learned to fight challenges, earthquakes, and discrimination. Born without a silver spoon and being the second of a family of eight children, I soon became an inspiration to my siblings. I have thought them to be resilient and to explore their individuality.

There is one particular phrase that my dad always tells me: "You have no right to do wrong". And this phrase has indeed a lot of impact on my life. It has helped me to become the person that I am today; someone responsible and who fights every second. However, I could not have been who I am without doing wrongs and learning from them. I guess my dad should reconsider his famous quote.

Ok, I am out of here.
